📡 Wallys Multi-Band Mesh Field Test Case
In a recent outdoor test, we evaluated the performance of a Wallys-based multi-band Mesh network DR5018S IPQ5018, focusing on long-distance coverage and link stability.
🔍 Test Setup
Distance between APs: ~500 meters
Scenario: Outdoor Line-of-Sight (LOS)
Topology: Multi-band Mesh (dedicated backhaul link)
🚀 Test Results
Single-hop throughput: up to ~400 Mbps
Stable link performance with no significant fluctuation
Consistent results across multiple test runs
📈 Analysis
By leveraging a multi-band backhaul design, interference between access and backhaul links is minimized, enabling strong throughput even over longer distances.
At a 500-meter node spacing, this level of performance is already close to what is typically achieved with wireless bridge (PTP) solutions — while maintaining the flexibility of Mesh networking.
💡 Use Cases
This solution is well-suited for large-scale outdoor deployments such as:
Mining sites
Oil & Gas fields
Smart campuses
Ports & terminals
Warehousing & logistics
Agriculture & farms
Industrial parks
